U can use just about any cotton yarn that is worsted weight.
Needle size 7

CO 36st
Knit 5 rows in garter stitch

Do 3 pattern repeats

Knit 5 rows in garter stitch

Pattern:
Row1--K3, *P5, K5* repeat from *, end with K8
Row2--K4, *P5, K5* repeat from *, end with K7
Row3--K3, P3, *K5, P5* repeat from *, end last repeat with P2, K3
Row4--K6, **P5, K5* repeat from *, end with K5
Row5--K3, P1, *K5, P5* repeat from *, end with P4, K3
Row6--K3, P4, *K5, P5* repeat from *, end with P1, K3
Row7--K5, *P5, K5* repeat from *, end with K6
